State College asks: Are YOU Hungry?

"Are U Hungry" is a restaurant in State College where the menu is a bit…bizarre.
Cheese steak, chicken fingers, french fries, and mozzarella sticks. These are typical items that can be found on most menus. But, all four of these things together on a sandwich, topped with ketchup and mayonnaise? You're definitely not going to find that at your local TGI Fridays.
This diabolical combination, better known as the "Fat Bitch," is a top seller at "Are U Hungry." This restaurant chain opened in June 2005. With two in State College alone, it's no surprise that this heart attack-on-a-plate gets a lot of attention from college students near and far.
"Are U Hungry" has a variety of "Fat Sandwiches," 21 to be exact. Restaurant diners can stuff your sandwich, and your face, with everything from cheeseburgers to eggs, and top it off with anything from onion rings to marinara sauce.
Another popular sandwich, the "Fat Bastard," has gyro meat, chicken fingers, and mozzarella sticks, all covered in a white sauce. A few other sandwiches are the "Fat Mom," "Fat Elvis," and the "Fat Cat." Customers can even create their own fat sandwiches.
If you're not up for consuming 16, 273 calories, "Are U Hungry" also sells plain old chicken fingers, burgers, and steak and cheese. They even sell salads as well as vegetarian alternatives.
Only one question remains. How good is the food?
Danielle Eger, a sophomore at Lock Haven University, had the "Fat Ranch," which consists of chicken fingers, mozzarella sticks, French fries, and of course, ranch dressing.
"It was delicious. It costs nine dollars, but it's really big. On a scale from one to ten, I give it a hundred!" Eger said. "They should probably get one in Lock Haven."
"Obviously the names make draw people in," said junior Arianna Bonefont. "I had a Fat Bitch, and it's just funny to be able to say you had one."
Bonefont also stated she would rate the Fat Bitch Sandwich a 9 on a scale from one to ten.
LHU sophomore Nicolette Carothers strayed from the fat sandwich path, and got a chicken salad. "The salad was real tiny, and all it was lettuce with chicken on top. It was like $8 for a crappy, little, chicken salad. I could have made one better than that," she said.
Carothers then added, "Scale from one to ten, I'd give it a three."
If you are ever in the State College area, "Are U Hungry" is located on 111 Sowers Street, as well as 222 West Beaver Avenue. Don't forget to grab an "I love fat bitches" tee shirt on your way out!
