Have you ever had that late night craving for food? Many students at Lock Haven University spend their nights hungry. A poor schedule of hours with the on campus dining services coupled with the lack of eateries within walking distance of campus make meals a real hassle for students.
Local college towns like State College and Williamsport are full of places that are open 24 hours. The only places you will find in lock haven open all night is McDonald's and Dunkin Donuts. These options are also limited by their distance from campus and the termination of allowing people to walk through the drive-thru.
An all night diner would make it possible for students to get a decent meal at any hour, create jobs for students and townspeople and cut down on drunk driving. With many students consuming alcohol on the weekends, a place within a short walk may cut down on some risky decisions.
"Absolutely! I would love an all night diner," said LHU sophomore Stephen Efkowitz, "It would be nice to have other options near campus."
