He stated involvement has shaped him into a charismatic leader.
While at the community college, he was elected president of the Health and Physical Education club, the Community Service Club and has served as a student senator.
This involvement garnered him an award on behalf of the Senate for most involved senator during a semester.
He believes these positions have given him the tools necessary to perform leadership in areas of community service, community engagement, hunger awareness and recruiting students for Habitat for Humanity, in addition to pushing students to get involved.
"My involvement gave me the name Montgomery County Community College Poster Boy," said Frederick.
Frederick said he genuinely cares about students' asserting that he has continued a tradition that has now been carried over to LHU.
While attending the community college, he started a tradition of carrying a lunchbox around campus for students to pick food items out during the day.
"Normally, I have three stable items, juice boxes, fruit snacks and granola bars, I hear 'the lunchbox boy get over here' from people," said Frederick.
He believes serving as Student Athletics Liaison has taught him the workings of LHU.
"He has met with Sharon Taylor (Athletics Director of LHU) on a monthly basis, he's attended a majority of sporting events and any other assigned duties by me," said Lunden explaining the duties performed by Frederick last semester.Student Athletics Liaison is a position on the executive committee within the SCC Inc. that votes on corporate matters mostly in closed SCC executive meetings, attendance at all Senate meetings is mandated, unless written excuse is given to the president.
Vice president is a position that's well compensated.
Thus, Frederick will receive 80 percent of his tuition for his service to the SCC, Inc.; however, his compensation comes with an array of responsibilities.
The constitution reads that the vice president shall assume all duties of the president when absent, shall be chair of Ways and Means Committee, shall act as executive assistant to the president, shall supervise and evaluate the operations of the SCC senator, maintain 15 office hours a week and oversee all aspects of elections committee.
