Jamie DiMartile, ROTC cadet and sophomore majoring in criminal justice, received the U.S. Army Cadet Command 2009 Cadet Culture and Language Immersion Internship to go to Argentina from May 30 until June 20.

The university prides itself on international experiences for students and, most recently, the LHU ROTC announced the winner of their U.S. Army Cadet Command 2009 Cadet Culture and Language Immersion Internship in Argentina.
Sophomore and Criminal Justice major, Jamie DiMartile will be heading to Argentina.
Her time over there will extend from May 30 until June 20.
DiMartile began her career with the ROTC in the very beginning of her college career.
"I joined the ROTC program here on campus fall of 2007, with hopes of making the military a career for myself, somewhere along the lines of the Military Police," she said.
The internship is a humanitarian mission where the students get to help children in an orphanage, while also doing a lot of work focused on the military.
DiMartile was chosen after a very extensive screening process that began way back in December.
As a member of the Sigma Kappa Sorority here on campus, DiMartile has always been involved with helping organizations in Lock Haven.
She will now have the opportunity to do a good deed in another country.
Recent service events that she has been involved in benefitted the Lock Haven women's shelter, the Alzheimer's Foundation and Multiple Sclerosis research.
DiMartile is looking forward to the chance to extend her community involvement and working for a cause overseas.
She is always seeking out a fun way to get involved, whether on campus or off.
According to official university press release, DiMartile had three years of Spanish experience during her time in high school. This internship in Argentina will have an intensive study of Spanish, along with its humanitarian focus.
"This program has opened a lot of doors for me," she said.
This will be DiMartile's first time out of the country.
