Citizens Hose #5 to bring pro-wrestling event to Thomas Fieldhouse as fundraiser

They put their lives and safety for us on the line every day. They are on call every hour, and holidays don't mean a break. All 175 members of Citizens Hose Company #5 in Lock Haven risk everything to make sure our community is protected and out of harm's way.
Hardly ever do these brave souls ask something of the community in return, but when they do, it should be the least we can do to pitch in. Now is that time.
As a means of raising money which will be earmarked for the company's building fund to repair walls and bring other necessary fixtures to the fire house, Citizens Hose is hosting a night of pro-wrestling in Lock Haven.
For 26 years the World Wide Wrestling Alliance (WWWA) has been hosting wrestling matches with famous names like Scott Steiner and Larry Zbyszko to help out causes just like Citizens Hose.
And with a little persuading from the Citizens Hose board members, WWWA wrestling will light up Lock Haven University's Thomas Field House on May 17 for an evening of real, live, unscripted wrestling, and hopefully bring in a little cash, too.
That's not all: two of the pro-wrestlers, Wild Fire Stacey Marie and Superstar Cody Adams are homegrown from Jersey Shore, making the cause even more special.
The married couple can be thought of as the Donnie and Marie of wrestlers. Stacey, 22, began wrestling four years ago and Cody, 21, began wrestling six years ago.
"I used to watch pro-wrestling on TV.," said Cody. "I've always been interested in the sport, but I never competed in high school."
Stacey began wrestling soon after she and Cody began dating. "I just kind of followed his lead," she said smiling to her husband.
The two wrestle many events every year within a few hours of the area, but this event will really hit close to home, literally.
"When I heard that (WWWA) was coming to Lock Haven, I was so excited because now my family and friends can come watch," said Cody and Stacey.
WWWA, who in charge of brining the event to Lock Haven, setting up the matches and choosing the wrestlers has been in business for 26 years with a parent corporation in Montgomery County.

WWWA still promotes great shows regularly. They have a full schedule of shows throughout 2009 already listed. With wrestlers like Slambo and Whack-o-Lantern, what's there not to like?
