Information from Press Release
Issue date: 10/17/07 Section: News
From Oct. 17-31st, the honor society of Phi Kappa Phi will be holding a Children's Book Drive for new and gently used children's books.
These will then be donated to Jackson Elementary School in conjunction with a Literacy Grant that will allow the students to choose and donate new books to their school library.
We are looking for children's books that are appropriate for ages 5-12.
These may include any of the following: activity , poetry, chapter, picture, nonfiction, fiction, informational books or any other book you think would be appropriate for children in grades K-5.
Collection boxes, with more information about the honor society of Phi Kappa Phi will be appearing this week in the following locations: Bentley Dining Hall, Sloan Fine Arts Center, East Campus, Zimmerli, Himes Building, Ulmer Hall, PUB, Honors House, Akeley Hall, Robinson Learning Center, Raub Hall and Sullivan Hall.
If you have Children's Books you would like to donate, but feel uncomfortable putting them in the collection boxes, members of Phi Kappa Phi would be willing to come to your office to personally pick them up. Simply let me know via email or phone (x. 2440) and we will make arrangements to do so.
