The local coffee shops in Lock Haven are helping to spread the word with the Haiti earthquake relief efforts. Teachers and customers have been donating money to Avenue 209, a coffee shop located on Bellefonte Ave., which has been helping to raise awareness for Haiti the first few days after the disaster.

On Wednesday LHU students, faculty and community members came to the PUB multipurpose room to donate their blood to the American Red Cross. Some of the volunteers were first time donors, while others had given their blood to the Red Cross before. The students and others that decided to give their blood started by signing up either before hand with an appointment at a certain time, while others signed up at the table in the PUB on Wednesday.
