Haven Achievers Program presents gift to Women's Center

The Clinton County Women's Center received a gift of $530 from a raffle conducted by Lock Haven University's Haven Achievers Program in conjunction with the Therapeutic Recreation Club and the Educational Opportunity Program. Students involved in the raffle were given the challenge of selling as many tickets as possible in two weeks.

Sexual harrassment expands to web

Over the course of the year 2008, the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission recieved 13, 867 charges of sexual harassment. According to a poll done by the Washington Post in 2006, 62 percent of students felt that they had recieved a comment from another person that they felt was innappropriate, but that was routine.

Public emergency meeting called for Monday night

The Ways and Means Committee has called an emergency meeting for Monday night at 6:30 p.m. in PUB room #2 to introduce the Bills of Impeachment. The meeting is open to the public and is "SOLEY to Intorduce the Bills of Impeachment." A meeting for the library will be called at a later time.

Hundreds attend council meeting

November 18, 2009 brought hundreds of angry LHU students to the Parson's Union Building (PUB) at 6 p.m. Within half an hour, room 2 was standing-room only, and the mob stretched to the lobby and the parking lot outside. These students were all gathered for one common goal: to witness the Senate meeting, which was to address the allegations of the misuse of funds against the S.C.C. Executive Board. An hour into the meeting, the S.C.C. introduced open forum.

Students gather to show support

Over 50 students gathered at the PUB to show their concern during the Ways and Means Committee meeting Friday night. While the meeting was closed to the press and public, students stuck around for over an hour, lounging in chairs and waiting for results. Students initially came out to voice their displeasure with the canceling of the meeting however it was back on after student and Senate pressure.

Guerriero wins $60,000 in lawsuit against LHU
