It's back: Food stand once again open

Hungry students once again have a place to fill that late night craving with some quality food. That's right, the Pizza House Express is open once again. Many students over the past year have taken a liking to the pizza trailer located on W. Main Street. From exceptional subs to pizza and stromboli, owner, Sergio Esposito is always cooking up exceptional food for Lock Haven students into the early morning hours.

Honorable Mention: Athiest professor speaks to freshman

Standing in front of nearly one hundred honors students, at least 90 percent of which claiming to have some belief in a higher power, Dr. Dan Shaw told them why he thought they were wrong. For the sixth year in a row, the Honors Program brought in Shaw, a professor of philosophy at Lock Haven University and an open atheist, to speak to new freshmen about his religious beliefs.

New art gallery connects students with community

Homecoming festivities got under way as students, local residents and alumni gathered Friday evening for the unveiling of the new Bentley Art Gallery. Located in the lower level of Bentley Dining Hall, the gallery is a collaboration of works from students, alumni, faculty and local artists.

Career Services offers free practice exams

KAPLAN and Career Serives are sponsoring free practice tests for the LSATs, GMATs, MCATS, and the GREs, on Saturday, October 3rd. Start times will vary depending on the test taken. According to the Law School Admission Council, the Law School Admission test (LSAT) is a test required for any student interested in attending an American Bar Association-approved Law School.

Feed Clinton County collecting canned goods for the hungry

Lock Haven University's Student Cooperative Council (SCC) will be collecting canned goods and other non-perishable food items on campus during the month of October. The items collected will be donated to the local Salvation Army and Women's Shelter. With the recent economic hardships, the SCC sees this as a perfect opportunity for LHU students to give back to the community that invites them in each year.

Facebook has become one of the most widely-used social networking sites on the planet, and possibly the easiest and most convenient way for the public to get information about various things.

Safety tip of the week: smart ATM usage

It's a rainy, winter evening as Louis races up the steps from the parking lot. Having a minute or two before his Biology lab starts, he stops at the ATM in the PUB to grab a few dollars for later. Exiting the ATM booth, Louis notices an individual in a black sweatshirt with his hood up exiting the PUB doors at the same time.

New club on campus open to free thoughts

The Free Thought Alliance is a new club on campus drawing attention because of its uniqueness. The Free Thought Alliance is a place for atheists and agnostics to meet up with other people who feel the same. This new club had a stand at the annual club fair and it was quick to gain a number of followers.

Campus officer's smile a campus presence

After 12 years, Officer Robert Hall doesn't plan on leaving Lock Haven University anytime soon. Hall is a campus patrol officer for the Public Safety department who graduated from Lock Haven University with a degree in Sociology. "When I first got here I said, 'I've got to get out of here,'" said Hall.

Tutorial services has grand opening

Lock Haven University's new tutorial center, located on East Campus, officially opened its doors to students on Friday. Formerly located in Russell Hall, the tutorial center made its move to East Campus with the help of a $330,000 contribution from Dr. Betty Baird Schantz.

2009 Homecoming King and Queen are crowned despite bad weather

Lock Haven University crowned its 2009 Homecoming King and Queen at halftime of the football game Saturday afternoon. In a steady rain, an energized Jack Stadium crowd exploded in cheers as junior Brian Keefer and senior Leigh Szucs were crowned king and queen.
