ROTC student receives scholarship for internship in Morocco

The U.S. Army Cadet Command recently awarded a Cultural and Language Immersion scholarship to sophomore Army ROTC Cadet Brandon Wilson. On May 9, Wilson will report to the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, N.Y. for some training. After the extensive training at the academy, he will depart for Morocco and remain in the country until June 4.

LHU Alumna volunteers for WorldTeach in Costa Rica

LHU communication media graduate, Stephanie LaSota is participating in one year of volunteer service as a WorldTeach Volunteer in Costa Rica. WorldTeach is a non-profit, non-governmental organization that sends volunteer teachers to developing nations. As a student with a minor in Spanish, LaSota was interested in traveling to Spanish speaking countries; she even completed a semester abroad in Madrid, Spain.

New Year, New Faces: Mr. Curtis Grenoble

The campus is happy to welcome Mr. Curtis Grenoble to the Health Profession building and the Physician Assistant program. Since being acquainted with the recently operating health building, Grenoble finds himself visiting the main campus once a week. Grenoble spends the majority of his time stationed at the Clearfield campus.

Club promotes eco-friendliness

New chef fears no challenge

Imagine you are at home and you ask your mom, "What's for dinner?" and she responds by saying, "Whatever you want!" That is precisely the answer that the new head chef of Lock Haven's dining service, Zach Lorber, is working to give to LHU students. "Any student can stop me at any time and tell me anything that they would like to see on the menu, and I'm willing to try it," said Lorber.

From Career Services Corner: Opportunities for International Students

The National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE) is offering an International Student Virtual Career Fair for students who may be struggling to find work opportunities due to complications with their visa. The Virtual Career Fair was created in response to the difficulties that international students face when trying to remain in the United States.

The community service area of the Honors Program, only in its second year of participation with the Relay for Life, is hoping to raise more money than any other organization this year. "Last semester, we were involved in a series of smaller projects to give back to the community," said Kim Cox, the community service liaison for the Honors Program.

Bingo game raises funds to fight cancer

People of all ages packed into the Parsons Union Building on Thursday, Jan. 29. No, it was not a rock concert. Instead, it was the latest bingo night organized in efforts to raise money for Lock Haven's Relay for Life. With the fall semester's bingo night being named "boobie bingo," organizers used Vera Bradley as their hook to get an even better turn-out this semester.
