Lacrosse wins out to wrap up regular season

The women's lacrosse team wrapped up their regular season schedule last week with conference wins at Bloomsburg and Slippery Rock. On Thursday the Lady Eagles overcame a halftime deficit to defeat Bloomsburg 16-13. LHU then cruised in their regular season finale with a 23-1 win at Slippery Rock Saturday afternoon.

Softball team extends home winning streak to 55 games

The softball team (40-6, 17-1 PSAC) ended their regular season with three doubleheader sweeps over PSAC East leading Kutztown as well as western opponents IUP and Edinboro. Kristen Erb and Amanda Roosa also swept the weekly awards as LHU found there way to another PSAC West title.

4x400 relay team takes first at Penn Relays

Both the men's and women's track and field teams were, once again, on the road this past weekend for the Big Red Outdoor Invitational, hosted by Cornell University and the Penn Relays, hosted by the University of Pennsylvania. Ranked fourth in the country, Ryan Blood, shattered yet another school record in the 5K event.

Baseball team honors seniors at last home contest of the season

With the season officially over for the baseball team, the whole team can look forward to improving for next year -- most of the team, that is. Two Bald Eagles took the field at Foundation field for the last time this past Friday as Lock Haven began their weekend series with Shippensburg.

The wrestling season for the Lock Haven University wrestling team ended over a month ago and they're still making news. On Monday the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) released their annual Top 10 winter sports athletes and LHU's own Matt Fittery was named to the exclusive list.

Aloha means goodbye

Well it is finally here, my final editorial as sports editor for the Eagle Eye. I have mixed emotions about this day. It will be my last issue ever, but it also frees up my Tuesdays. For the last four semesters I have spent every Tuesday sitting in the office editing stories and putting the paper together.

Investigative integrity

As journalists we have certain rules and standards to adhere to. Obvious examples include being fair, being accurate and being impartial. Another unwritten, or perhaps written, rule of journalism is not to deceive the people you are reporting on. I have only been doing this for two years and even I know that.
