Concert goes to 'Gym Class'

Haven Activities Council (HAC) in cooperation with the Student Cooperative Council Inc. (SCC) will present the Gym Class Heroes for the spring concert on Saturday, April 19 at 7 p.m. in the Thomas Fieldhouse. Gym Class Heroes is comprised of Travis McCoy, vocals; Disashi Lumumba-Kasongo, guitar; Matt McGinley, percussion and Eric Roberts, bass.

Author, poet shares works and experience

Lock Haven University hosted author and poet John Hoppenthaler on Monday, Feb. 25. Hoppenthaler, writer of two books, "Lives of Water" and "Anticipate the Coming Reservoir," was also the personal assistant to novelist Toni Morrison. Hoppenthaler spoke about what it was like to work with Morrison, who has won the Nobel Prize and is considered by Ladies Home Journal to be one of the "30 most powerful women in America.

Colleges are trying to infuse students with the will and the power to get involved in the current presidential election. Only a college sophomore, Ryan Scaife has discovered a way to fuse two of the loves in his life - art and athletics. The business management major has watched his talent transform one of his favorite hobbies into a full-blown enterprise.
