Bustling groups of art enthusiasts filed into the John Sloan Fine Arts Gallery last Wednesday to see selected works from Lock Haven University students in the annual juried student art show. All of the pieces chosen for the exhibit were selected by a source outside of the LHU art department.
Pennsylvania poets are celebrating the beauty of the state in the anthology "Common Wealth: Contemporary Poets on Pennsylvania." Lock Haven University will host an evening of readings featuring nine poets from this anthology on April 11, 2007 at 7 p.m. in Robinson's Hamblin Hall of Flags.
As far as I am concerned, there is no need to put off the next Academy Awards ceremony any longer. The best picture of the year was released this weekend and it is called "Grindhouse." Okay, so the movie has little artistic value, the film is scratched and dusty and there are large sections of story development that are absent because of deliberately missing reels.
So last week the campus welcomed three bands to perform in Thomas Fieldhouse for our annual spring concert. Now personally, I have no problem listening to the bands that graced the stage, but I noticed that around campus more people were complaining and opting out of going, then actually enthusiastically venturing out to see the performances.
